Our Learning Targets "short term goals"
These are brief targets for students to use in self assessment for our targeted goals. They are posted up in our room and we talk about them daily. I encourage you to use them as topics of conversation with your children. I CAN write numbers in three ways: standard form, word form, and expanded form. (1.1)

In unit two, students will learn about number relationships. They will learn to write numbers (up to the billions place) in standard form, word form, and expanded form. Students will be able to compare place values to values on the right (1/10th) and on the left (10 times) of a digit. They will compare numbers using place value and round numbers to a given place value through the hundred thousands place. Students will understand decimals using models, place value charts, and money. They will write decimals to the hundredths place value using expanded form and numerals, as well as writing decimals as a fraction and vise versa. Students will order and compare decimals to the hundredths place and write all numbers on a number line. Finally, students will use models to help solve a problem.
