"Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." -Albert Einstein
Hello!
My name is Ashley Rollins and I will be teaching third grade this year. I am thrilled about the upcoming journey and wanted to let you know a little about me... I was born and raised in Austin, Texas where I graduated from Westwood High School. I then left this beautiful city for a little adventure; traveling to Albuquerque, New Mexico. While in Albuquerque, I attended the University of New Mexico and played golf for the women's team for two and a half years. I could not stay away from this great city though and came back; again playing golf and graduating from the University of Texas with a B.S. in Communication Studies. Go Longhorns! I am passionate about learning and earned my masters degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Sam Houston State University in May 2017.
This will be my seventh year teaching at Bridge Point; my first six years I taught fourth grade here. This will also be my eighth year at BPE. When I am not at school, I enjoy being active: walking my dog Chewy, taking yoga classes, golfing, and traveling. I also enjoy spending time reading, writing, painting, seeing movies, learning new languages, and cooking.
My mission as a teacher is to have a creative, collaborative, compassionate, and challenging learning environment where students are excited to learn. Within the walls of my classroom exists an active community of learners who take charge of their own learning: exploring new interests, asking questions, and investigating the world around them. I set high expectations for my students and expect them to give a 100% everyday. I look forward to working with and getting to know your child this year.
Sincerely,
Ashley Rollins
